I would like to self-nominate for the open position of secretary-treasurer commencing in 2025. I have been a very active member of SPPM since 2017 including chair of the communications committee, board member, program chair for 2022 annual meeting, program shadow for 2021 annual meeting, and recently was a workshop coordinator for a workshop held at the 2024 annual meeting.
As a pediatric pain physician practicing both acute and chronic pain, I have focused my clinical, research and educational pursuits in pediatric pain. Our society recently celebrated its 10th anniversary and I am excited to grow our society in attracting new and diverse membership. I am proud of the educational content that has been created by the communications committee, which lives as a repository of educational content on our website and social media channels. If I am chosen to move up in the executive of SPPM, I would like to continue in improving our society and bringing fresh ideas so that we are the leading voice of pediatric pain clinicians in North America and beyond.

- I have been a very active member of the Society for Pediatric Pain Medicine over the last 7 years. My initial leadership role, which I still hold to this day, is chair of communications committee. In the last 7 years, I have achieved the following:
- Re-design of the SPPM website with updated sections particularly on education and resources for trainees (such as up to date listing of all pediatric pain fellowships in US and Canada)
- Increased presence on social media which now includes active accounts on X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, Facebook, Youtube and Instagram
- Question of the Month Series: Since 2017, our committee has regularly created, edited and recruited questions from members of our society to create a fantastic repository of questions which are then free to open access via our website. These questions cover acute pain, chronic pain and regional anesthesia. Questions since 2017 are organized and easily accessible on the website.
- Launch of visual pearl series, multimedia based educational content that is released every alternate month and available as open access via YouTube. Recently, I helped to launch a formal collaboration with OpenAnesthesia.org in order to have all our past and future Visual Pearl videos and content be endorsed and cross posted on both SPPM and OpenAnesthesia platforms
- Since 2017, I have worked closely with the Ruggles team to create biweekly email blasts which include Latest News, highlighting the latest research or other relevant topics of interest to our membership

The Ontario Chronic Pain Network represents all academic pain programs in the province of Ontario (Canada) that are funded by the Ministry of Health. I have served as the pediatric co-chair for the network since 2021, overseeing the network comprised of various committees including Knowledge and Translation, Research, and Clinical Care.
National Advisory Committee Member for Pain Canada
Pain Canada was created in response to Health Canada’s 2021 report An Action Plan for Pain in Canada. The Action Plan called for national mechanisms to improve coordination, create community capacity, develop and disseminate pain-related guidance and best practices and to enable collaboration among governments, regulators and health professional organizations, people with lived experience, non-governmental organizations, researchers, employers, and other stakeholders with a role to play in the Action Plan’s implementation. I have served as a member of the NAC since 2022.

I am also involved in the American Congress of Rehabilitative Medicine subgroup on peds and pain. As a developer of a potential clinical tool for rehabilitation, I have been working also in this large rehabilitative medicine group to affect how pain is managed in the rehabilitation environment.
